I don't have 1 I have the nipper 360 double, which is fab, I have seen a lot of comments on here about mountain buggy being made by Phil & Ted now and the quality not being what it was - sorry not to have more info

I have both the new mb (made by p&t) and the 09 nz made ones (3 in actual fact!!) I would definitely recommend the mb doubles, I have tried many doubles and the mb are my faves. I would definitely recommend the carrycot when baby is little. As for newer style v older I would agree that the older ones feel as if they will last forever whilst newer ones not so sure?!? The seat is slightly smaller on the new ones so not as roomy for toddlers. :)

don't have the new one. mine is five years old. i'm not sure i could bring myself to pay the megabucks for new one Grin

the old is a great push, lots of storage, simple fold. it's the only side by side that i've ever had so can't compare it width-wise.

downsides: doesn't fit in our boot (knew it wouldn't when bought), does feel a lot like a landrover cause of sheer size and bulk. and ds seemed happier in P&T seat.

thanks for your comments, I will go and try a Mountain buggy double and have a look at the p&t's too x

There is a place called Winstanley Pram World that bought the old MB stock so has the old 08/09 models in stock. They are 1/2 the price of the new ones and their service is great. I bought mine from them about 6 weeks ago and it cost £470 including rain cover, 2 buggy snuggles and courier delivery. The new ones have terrible reviews and not nearly as durable.

i have two of the 2009 ones for my twins and had one a few years back for my older two. i have always had a single or double MB for the last 6 years. they are the best twin buggy. goes everywhere off-road. we go on the beach alot and we have stony and really deep sand beaches and it doesnt have a problem. the only thing that used to bug me was the saggy basket after a year, so i now put one of those flexi chopping boards (£2 for 2 in ikea) in the basket and its fine now. the old NZ made MBs are much better than the new ones. they are also the narrowest side-by-side i have found. i bought my second one from pramworld for £299 in moss (both of mine are moss, its lovely) the other one came from e-bay as new for £150. my older one is used twice a day for the school run and trips to the woods, its been in constant use with two buggyboards on the back for my older two for 20months and its still smooth to push and i have not had any problems with it. also when you have a newborn and toddler in it doesnt make any difference, it pushes the same. its also very stable you can load it up with shopping and it will not tip, the hood is also great for carrying large items like boxes of nappies etc. the carrycots clip on and off and they are cheap on e-bay to buy, pushchairs.co.uk sell spares like mattresses but refuse to sell the new 2010 buggies because of the quality. i am a bit of a pramaholic and have had 30 double buggies and the MB is the best for what i need to use a buggy for.

Thank you for all the info, I have now had a look at the new one and the offers at Winstanleys. Think I am going to go for the new one as I think that the two single hoods on the new one are much more practical for me. I am going to use a single carrycot and with the old model I see that you can't have a hood on when it is in this mode. I do a lot of walking and think it would be a bit mean to leave DS with no hood!!!

I keep my hood on even with the carrycot on it! hasnt been a problem at all actually! mines an older model with single hood rather than two hoods, when the main hoods up, i just dont put the carrycot hood up entirely, no probs at all
