icandy apple - any good?

We are very confused about which pushchair/carrycot to go for...help!

On paper, the icandy apple does everything we want (air tyres for lots of walking, seperate carrycot, reasonable width to get through our small front door etc.) But when we see it/try it instore, we find it a bit hard to fold down, heavy carrycot and always squeaky!

So...for those of you who have bought/used the icandy apple, would you recommend?

We have also looked at the Quinny Buzz but are put off by the bad reviews and the M&P Sola but are put off by the small, foam filled tyres.

Please help us!

No for the quinny buzz, awful, heavy, terrible to steer, clunky, big when folded, looks ugly etc.

My friend has an apple and is very pleased with it though finds it very heavy getting it in and out of the car. She is still using the carrycot, nice push, I had a go yesteday.

How about m and p skate?? Lovely pram, not keen on the sola or the urbo.

How about bugaboo, I have cameleon anf bee+ and love them both Smile

Thanks carrielou - I think the Buzz is out. So many people dislike it and I think it's quite ugly too. I have seen the Skate but wasn't sure about that one.

Going to look at the apple again tomorrow - anyone else have any opinions?

OMG i loved my icandy apple bought it for my 3rd baby after lots of prams and it was by far the best i have had,its easy to push very comfy for baby it is heavy to lift but i didnt mind. Did allot of walking and could push 1 handed while holding dd's hand. Would highly reccomend this pram i had tears when i sold it as dd doesnt really go in a buggy anymore she is 2. The folding down bit is a skill but once you know how its really easy would give it 10 out of 10.

We got the icandy apple when DD was 4 months old after having bought one from mamas and papas which we just didn't like. Hadn't seen the icandy then and it wasn't very popular where we live but I absolutely loved it! Pregnant with number 2 and can't wait to use my icandy again.

Loads of room in the comfy carry cot, I love that you can face the pushchair both ways. The three wheeler is defo easier to push than 4 wheels. I know people have said the putting it down is a knack and it is but it's so simple when you know how. You don't put it down by force or slamming it down (those who have tried it will know what I mean) but you just need to push the handle down in the right place and it just collapses. You soon get to figure it out. I got it out the other day after a year of not using and managed it straight away. Please don't let this put you off buying what is a wonderful pram.

I have the icandy apple and would highly reccomend. My baby is not yet six months so have not used the seat part yet only the carrycot and Car seat. I have used many buggies and this is my favourite .

Over the summer i have used it in town, the countryside, woods, the beach and on numerous days out and experienced no problems.

It is heavy to get in and out the car but this does not bother me and is outweighed by all the positives.Carrycot is very sturdy and chassis is easy to colapse once you have the knack.

Barbeasty · 06/09/2010 17:09

I love mine. It is easy to use (once you've got the knack), doesn't squeak and is one of the best built & sturdiest systems I saw.

The health visitor commented on how lovely and deep the carry cot is.

It's heavy to get out of the car, but feels light and manoeuvrable when in use.

Thanks everyone - I've decided the apple is the one for me and am ordering it today. Yippee! I went for another look yesterday and managed to fold it down easily - I think you just need the knack. Going for the redcurrant one too.

Another box ticked before baby's arrival!
