basl · 28/08/2010 21:19

Aww thats ok Shatteredmum. I got a funny email from you tho. You know those ones with the persons name then a dodgy email. Wonder if you need to change your hot mail details or something. This happened to maxy a wee while back to.

That would be great if you could but really don't go to any trouble. I am very interested tho. Grin xx

Forgot to say on the other thread basl there are pics of dd in ds's swift, she had about 3 inches left she is about 108cm tall

basl · 28/08/2010 22:59

Ahhh thankyou Carrie. I am loving the look of your swift. I just need it really to get me through till Daniel at nursery really. I am hoping it will be compact enough for everyday use.

Thanks so much Carrie xxx

Hi....am at chessington at the minute standing in queues :( I have the swifts in each colour but am only selling the Flint as I have just bought a 2010 Flint one (although really not as good as the 09s) and want to keep one of each (sad I know). You can buy alternative covers from MB though for not too much for the swifts. I am after £210 for it so just let me know if you are still interested!!! :)

basl · 29/08/2010 16:50

I know your not going to be able to answer lol just now as probably in the air somewhere Grin but what is the difference between the 2009 and 2010 and is flint grey?

Hope you have fun and i will def let you know for sure. xxx

Hi......the difference is that the 2010 seat unit seems quite a bit smaller. The 09 ones are made in nz whereas the 10 ones are in china and not quite so good quality-'cheaper' harness, fabrics etc. They are now owned by p&t and just not like the last forever mbs!! Flint is grey and black so where carrielous is lime the Flint is grey still with the black sides. :)

Just one more question. As things are a little on the smaller scale for the 2010 Does the 2010 urban seem much smaller than the 2009 urban. My thinking is it may be that little bit bigger than the swift but not so big as the 2010.

So sorry i am giving my self a headache here goodness knows what you ladies must be thinking. lol

I have to disagree with the urban seat unit being the same size on the 2010 as on the 2009. I have both and know others who have both and there is definately less room in the 2010 ones. I also have both the 09 swifts and 2010 ones and again the seat unit is smaller in the 10s. The dimesions may be the same but when baby is in it there is definately less space in the 2010s. The urban is obviously larger as that was the whole point of the swift to offer a smaller lighter version of the mountain buggy without the bulk of the urban. 2010 is of less quality in my opinion and has made many previous MB stockists not stock them any more for this fact (chariots for example-previously huge stockists). Have never experienced my 09 swifts feeling they may tip, harder steering or turning. Unsure about the 2010 ones as havent used it yet but I suspect the ones on display are all 2010 ones now as winstanleys who bought all old mountain buggy stock have now sold them all.If you are near Essex at all you are welcome to come and have a trial :)

oh my!!! nothing is ever straight forward with me. I think the ideal thing would be to try out in shop. Arrrgggggg i hate when i get into this. I have the bjcm and carrie kindly measured the seat unit and i think the back rest is the same but much more head room on the bjcm but i like the idea of the 10inch tryes on the swift. Bloody hell what to do Hmm

Bloomin buggies!
basl just get a Volo!

carrielou2007 · 30/08/2010 20:56

Basl I sold my 'old' MB urban and drove to a local baby shop to buy a swift, the owners sold their bug cam when their youngest son was about 12 months for a swift but the 2009 one. I had the cash in my purse but just did not like the 2010 swift at all the proportions just somehow looked wrong.

So I bought a 2009 urban and whilst I LOVED it, it did not suit my lifestyle so got the 2009 swift and very pleased that I did. I was going to use it today at the beach but used the Bee+ as went to marine lake and want to keep swift new Blush fora bit longer.

I think what makes the swift feel diff to push is that is does not have rear suspension, for the beach, snow and bumpy and long walks to playgroup I don't need a 'true' offroader so it is no diff to me.

Get one get one get one, oh and a volo too as they are marvellous Grin

basl · 30/08/2010 21:06

lol carrie and HMG Grin

I am not of sane mind. I just read nicola concerns about daniel being to big and i agreed then i read another review and i thought Hmm maybe not then i total am with hmg with Bloody buggys then read my most fav reviewer Carrie and now i am say Hmm yeah i should try.

I have gone off on one again. I went through this with the BJCM and sure i bored everyone to tears with that. Grin

Thankyou for all the input it is most appreciated.
