problems with Phil and Teds pushchair - advice needed!

Hi,
Can anyone help me with the following? I've recently bought a Phil and Ted's Dash and have had a couple of problems with it. Firstly, the steering is dreadful, it keeps veering off to one side all the time. The sellers suggested putting WD40 on the wheel which helped a bit but the problem of veering to one side remained.
The second problem is with the newborn/toddler configuration. Our second baby is due in two weeks so I tried putting my toddler (aged 2 and a half) in the doubles seat the other day - so he was in the high seat and then there was space below for the cocoon. Although the Phil and Ted's website advertises the pushchair as suitable from newborn to 5, my toddlers head touches the bar at the top and when the rain cover is pulled over him his head touches that as well. He is just under the 50th centile for height so not particularly tall.
Given these two problems, I asked the seller for a refund. Their reply was that they would send a replacement front wheel for the pushchair as they said some of them were faulty. But for the height problem they said I should have checked this out before buying (which I disagree with as if something is advertised as being from newborn to 5, you expect it to be so).
Has anyone else had similar problems and was anyone successful in getting a refund from an online seller?
Any advice much appreciated!

Hi misdee, I don't think you can, the double seat just slots into the two holes and I think that's where it stays, unless anyone knows diferrent?

does the toddler seat frame have two sets of poppers? if so yuo might be able to slide the fabric down, giving more headroom under the hood.

Hi, just went to have a look at the pushchair and unfortunately there are no extra poppers for lowering the seat (that would have been a good feature to keep in this model though!) I'm going to play around with reclining the seat (by unzipping the fabric sides) and lifting the raincover up a bit. I just hope he doesn't grow too much in the next 6 months!

same problem here with the toddler and newborn set up and I have the original E3 - have given up as DD2 due in 5 weeks and it will be winter, therefore raincover needed, so purchased a nipper 360 double and will use P&T as a single when DD1 isn't with me.

to be fair I have had my moneys worth from P&T as it has been used as a single for 3 years first.

you could always flog it on ebay and get most of your money back as they hold their value

Have you used it yet? Under distance selling regs if you haven't and had it no more than 7 days you're entitled to a refund

Wonkiness we never sorted but having both tyres blown up equally helped

We also had the head issue (DS1 18kg and over 1m tall at 17 m) and his head hitting bar and raincover seemed to bother me more than him.

Majority of time used it in singles mode with baby in sling - much easier and meant I had somehwere to put all my stuff
