The best all terrain pushchair?

Hi!

I could really use advice on which would be the best all terrain buggy out there for our situation. We had a M&P 03 sport. A few weeks back had taken my then 19 month old son to a lake to watch the ducks. I had move 3 steps to the right to take a photo when the brakes failed and he ended up in the lake. I can't really put into words how terrifying the whole experience was and the GUILT that I have. The pushchair went straight to the tip the very next day. For now I am using a really cheap 3 wheeled Graco and hate it, the seat is not very deep and he looks like he will fall out.

Anyway, I digress. I am really looking for another all terrain as we live on the doorstep of AONB, where we spend a lot of time. My ds3 is just turned 21 months (and about 28lb) and although walking, I like to take the pram with me. I also have ds2, who is a small 6. He has a heart condition and can get tired easily, so I am ideally looking for something that he could still sit in if needs be (he's 107.5cm and 37lb)

I would appreciate any suggestions. Chances are we will be looking on here or ebay as with ds2 being as old as he is, I can't really justify a brand new pram (and dh may kill me, lol!)

I bought an urban detour 3 wheeler off ebay for £35 and its the best pram I have ever had. We go off road, up hills with it and its great!

Must have been horrible for you what happened with your son and the lake, not your fault tho, don't beat yourself up about it

Hi HM2J, remember me from the Nov thread?! I still think the Mountain Buggy is brill, and you can check, but it can take some good weights. Drawback is price though. Mine got nicked...have a Maclaren double but it is so awful. Sis has single MB and it's such a joy to push! Hope your ds3 got over his swim and that it wasn't too awful...

We have the 03 Sport and love it for the huge size of the seat and excellent recline but I will be vigilant about the brake now!

I have been looking at the Nipper 360. It seems to have a simialr seat to the 03 Sport so good size and recline and I have heard good things about it.

It seems a lot lighter than the 03 so easier to push. If I was trading up that is what I would go for.

Oh hun that must have been awful! Hope he's ok. I've also got an urban detour, which I've had since dd1 was born, and I absolutely love it, it goes everywhere and anywhere. And it's also got a big foot pad at the front which dd1 now sits on cos dd2 is in the seat. Dd1 is three and a half and can sit on it without her feet dragging, but six might be pushing it. I guess the only other suggestion is a good double buggy, but don't have any experience of them. Urban detour did do a double one but it was a side by side and looked a bit cumbersome to me. Phil & Ted do a similar thing to the urban detour. Good luck!

Hi MM & Suiledonne, nice to see some familiar names! Suiledone, I loved my 03 too, the seat was huge, so perfect for those time I needed to put ds2 in there, or I would often push it with ds3 in the seat and ds2 perched on the footplate. When I did a bit of digging, I found that brake failure was a common fault, so please be vigilent (maybe get a wrist strap to attach?)

I admit I have been looking at MB, nipper 360 or easylife sport. I have heard great things about the urban detour too and that could be the cheapest option.

Hello all! :) I've just joined mumsnet and need some serious help!

First baby is due in May and being the OCD organised type I am trying to get my head around what I will need come the new arrival. I live in the countryside and am going to need a real (not a stroll in the park) off-road/all terrain pushchair. I am talking farm tracks, muddy fields, woodland etc with the dog!

So far I have narrowed it down to three after many, many hours of trawling the internet. Can anyone advise if they have used the following and give me some honest opinions. All the websites make them sound amazing as you can imagine, but I would really appreciate some tried and tested reviews.

Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle (just been taken over by Phil and Teds) - very mixed reviews out there.
