double buggy or not?

I've just passed my driving test and now able to drive DC round. Except now have the problem that DD (3yr) falls asleep every time we get in the car and when I have to wake her to get out, she is like a demon. That is when I can wake her. DS is 9m, so has rightful claim to the pushchair and due to health issues I can't safely use a sling. DD is a good walker, and happy on a buggy board, so haven't needed a double til now.

Am sure I'm not the first in this situation, so any views on if it is worth getting a cheap double buggy?

I wouldn't. They weigh a tonne. I was very glad to switch to the board and single! Give her a couple of raisins or something when she wakes up and maybe some water. Does the trick for my DD (also 3).

If it makes your life easier then I would get a cheap double, I picked one up for my mum at an NCT sale for £25.00. My soon to be 3 yr old DD is also vile when woken up in the car - however all remains peaceful if I can move her from the car to the buggy thus allowing her to wake up of her own accord!
