Calling all bus/black cab users - which double buggy?

Hi All,

Tideous but I'm sleep deprived with newborn and can't leave house until I've made a decision!

Are there any other good options other than Phil and Ted's for serious public transport users in London. I have a newborn and a 15 month old.

Why oh why, don't Bugaboo do a double or a conversion - but I digress...

Any suggestions. I asked one mum who suggested that the Vibe was heavy but she'd been v. pleased with the Dash...

Heartfelt thanks

E.

Hi there,
Hope you're getting some sleep!
I've got a Vibe for our newborn, on the basis that we thought we'd likely have 2 and live near river path so good for that. And I would strongly recommend you don't get it - it's about twice as expensive as sport (don't know anything about the Dash) and it's got tons of problems with the front wheel....my one would occasionally lock itself whilst in swivel mode so I couldn't go forwards or backwards with it (quite often on a road having just gone off the curb) and then when it was in 'lock' mode, it wouldn't go straight and would weave side to side a little, so I was constantly having to right it. I got it from John Lewis and they sent it back to Phil and Teds and we got it back a few days ago and so far, it seems to be a lot better, so we may just have been unlucky with that, but it sounds as if it's fairly common. Even without that problem, it is v v wide (definitely wider than the sport) and I've now got to the point where I just don't try to take it on to a london bus because it doesn't fit. And I quite often struggle to get it in to cafes and shops, which is v frustrating. So I'd stick with the sport if I were you, or try the dash, as suggested.

Good luck!
V
