Another Maclaren XT Q - Loose straps?

Posted previously about buying a Maclaren techno XT and now have another question im afraid....

Im struggling to get the shoulder straps tight enough on my 6 month old. Have them in the lowest postion and as tight as they will go (as far as I can see) but still seem very loose. Husband says he will be fine and not going to fall out but they don't seem right to me.

Any suggestions or is this just how they are? The waist bit seems fine and pretty secure. As it can be used for a newborn im wondering if we are missing something as they would be way too loose for a smaller baby.

Any advice appreciated (even if its to tell me not to worry!). Many thanks.

I think I have sorted it. Still seem pretty loose but have reclined the seat a bit and tightened the waist straps right up... seems more secure this way.

They should be pretty firm?

the straps should adjust pretty small? hope you have it sorted now
