What do people think of the Quinny Buzz??

My sister has one for her son who is the same age as mine (8 months). She loves it but I have heard mixed reviews.

I thought it would be best to ask on here as I have never had one and not really had chance to have a 'drive' of my sisters!!

I have a sister in law who bought one - and she says it's too wide - hard to get in and out doorways (it does go through single standard doors - but it's a wide wheelbase for a single pram I heard).
It is also very bulky folded - takes up all the boot space.
The actually childs seat is really nice - and I think babies always look really comfy in them.
My friend found the front wheel kept sticking - and would sometimes stop sideways - but then now there are "air tyre" front wheels which are larger and can be added (for around £40 I think) which might solve that issue - although if the pram can fold with them on I don't know.
I did see a lady pushing one - with the car seat on through the woods at the weekend - and she was struggling - and baby was having rather a jolty ride - so I don't think they're much good at any "serioius" off road activity. They seem a bit "bulky" for urban activity too. One of those hybrid prams that doesn't do either job well if you ask me!

Hate mine. We've hardly ever used it.

It's too big & bulky (we've a 7 seater and really struggle to fit it in).
I find that disengaging the seat from the wheel base is clunky and have seriously pinched my fingers in the mechanism.
I have had never ending problems with the brakes.

Something small - but the straps are not not removable - ours ended up mildewy, so I can't even sell it .

My advice would be to go for something smaller/more mobile.

padmeHum - have you tried cleaning the straps with bio washpowder (scrubbed on with a toothbrush) - perhaps lay a large towel in the seat to protect it while you do this? Or Milton?
It's such a shame that you cannot even sell it on.
I wonder if you can phone the manufacturer - (dorel) and see if they can replace the straps for you (you don't have to tell them you are planning to sell on)? It may be a small cost - but one that could pay off if you can then sell the pram?!

Thanks Multimummy - I have tried everything - including building a contraption whereby the straps hang down into a bucket of weak bleach to try and remove the stains without marking the seat - quite a sight.

No joy.

I am going to clean it up and give it to a woman's shelter.

I hate the quinny buzz too.

Advantages are parent facing and would turn on a 50p, but it is way too bulky- wheel base too wide and its just generally very annoying.

I seem to be the only quinny buzz lover on here. Depends how you plan to use it and if your car is big enough. It does take up a lot of room and we couldn't manage much more than the buzz and a large holdall in the boot of a Peugeot 307. It is getting heavy to push with my 20 month dd in it and the front wheel does tend to stick especially on smooth floors like supermarkets. BUT my DD always looks comfy, it is generally easy to move around and can cope with off road if you lock the front wheel.

padmehum - I know someone looking for a cheap buzz - is it the newer version? does it have the carrycot? Just wondering how much you would sell for.

i too LOVE my buzz, i sold my first one as i was bored and wanted to try a few more out, but ended up buying another,
loved it with the carseat on,loved it parent facing,and when its facing forward its very upright unlike lots of others,i really love mine,its quite wide at the back wheels but its never caused me any problems,and because of the big rear wheels it goes over most terrains,

the front wheel on my first one stuck,but the lady in my local baby shop advised me to spray it with furniture polish as it has silicone in it and will free it off.

it also folds pretty small in comparison with others that are similar.

padmeHum - Use Dettol Mould and mildew remover. Works like a dream even on fabrics. I have used it on countless pushchairs I have got from Ebay.

PadmeHum I've got a buzz and hte straps come off mine. It's a bit fiddly and you have to remove the back board of the seat and then ease them out off the holes on that, but they are removable. I have the older style buzz though.

My DS grew out of the seat at about 8 months old. We didn't have one of the larger seats that comes with the newer models though.
I liked the buzz for a short period of time; maybe between the ages of abot 3 and 8 months, when DS looked comfy in it, but very expensive for this short time. I agree it is big, bulky and heavy, was a relief when we could use a lightweight stroller.
