Would love to hear your thoughts on this area - good and bad.
What is it like for a family with young children?

I live in Bury, (smack bang in the town centre) and there's no high crime rate that I'm aware of Hmm. It's a very quaint sort of place, and I really wouldn't want to live anywhere else after moving here 6 years ago. I absolutely love it.

Can't comment on Stowmarket as only been there a couple of times

I think Suffolk as a whole has a pretty low crime rate. It's funny, because I now live in a northern city, yet all my friends from out east post far more scaremongery things about the dreadful amount of crime and general shenanigans going on than anyone I know in my current city, which has a far higher actual rate of crime according to every single set of stats except those for sheep rustling maybe ! Grin

There was a TV satire of the local news show, Look East, a while back which did some very funny satires on the local journalism, with a serious-faced, dramatically-voiced report about someone having a pint of milk stolen from their doorstep in Woodbridge etc.

I do love Suffolk.
