a bit like this one
Ie. quite a big house, with large rooms, and a large garden. Not a little 3 bed cottage.

Greenwich prices are absolutely mad, tis true. ÂŁ750,000 for a 2 bed?

Imagine how much you can illegally sublet it for during the Olympics!

Shabby ones round here are about ÂŁ350k, they are bought by builders who rip everything out, paint it all beige spend ÂŁ20k on them for new kitchen and bathroom, and sell them for ÂŁ450k.

I prefer to buy shabby!

Anything between ÂŁ250K and ÂŁ350K depending on proximity to main road, size of garden, availability (or not) or parking, no of bathrooms.

North Herts village.

OK, are you ready for this?

Houses like that a few streets away would sell for about 800,000 Euro(about 710,000 pounds) During the boom you would have paid over a million.

Bet you're glad you don't live in Dublin.

In South Bristol it would be 250 - 300k and that's probably a rough average price for Bristol, it could be 150k - 500k depending which part of Bristol you live in

The street in your original link reminds me of where Alfie from the Shirley Hughes books lives

I found one for ÂŁ270k.

Market town in West Dorset.

In Norwich you'd pay anything from ÂŁ180-320 depending on area.

The smaller Victorian semis start from around ÂŁ110 for 2 bed + boxroom with downstairs bathroom.

I'm really glad I live here, having seen prices elsewhere!

Oh I wish I knew the Shirley Hughes books Betty. I live very near that street now. You've got me wanting to read them!.

About 350k - 400k, Surrey.

This is probably a similarish space for 425k with an extra bedroom.

Report
Awassailinglookingforanswers · 03/01/2010 21:34

you could have this 5 bed end of terrace - in "nice" part of town for ÂŁ279k

4 bed end of terrace ÂŁ175k

3 bed midterrace ÂŁ130k (near the train station)

bottom end of scale 85k

Report
Lapsedrunner · 03/01/2010 21:37

This is only(!) ÂŁ600k

Report
Lapsedrunner · 03/01/2010 21:48

..or a mere ÂŁ675k!

Those two you've linked to are rather larger and grander than my example Lapsed. There's a 3 bedroom house on Devereux Road at ÂŁ539,000 on that agents site which is more comparable. (Thanks for that info, btw, have always fancied Windsor!).
