How big is your utility? Bonus points for pictures!

Laboriously planning an extension and want to work in a utility. On the original plan from the architect the room seemed small (would probably have fit a stacked washer/dryer, a sink and a bit of sideboard) so we asked for it to be bigger but now I’m doubting myself as does eat into the kitchen space. We don’t have a huge amount of storage currently so would want it to take the washer and dryer, a second fridge, space for all those occasional use appliances, as well as somewhere to dump the hoover and mops and be able to close the door on them. So it feels like it needs to be a bit more substantial than the original plan.

So tell me about your lovely utility! What size did you go for? Do you regret going bigger, or smaller? And if you want to show off a picture of it, even better!

Ours is 3 units wide on each side so about 2m
It fits a standard fridge-freezer, undercounter fridge, washer and dryer and has a sink unit.

It's not big enough and there is nowhere to hang laundry.

Also no space for vacuum and mop etc

Ours is 2.4m x 2.7m. Some of it is compromised by three doors - to outside, kitchen and a separate boiler room.
We have a tall broom cupboard, stacked washer/ dryer (cupboard at top which holds laundry basket and a pull out shelf in between the machines) and L shaped worktop with cupboards under with pull out corner storage. Sink under a window. Drop down rack on wall for drying small bits. We would have a sheila maid but all the doors get in the way, but there is floor space for a large drying rack which folds up into the cupboard. Shelves for flower vases.
Also room to stand and iron with a nice view of the garden and a podcast.

I love it.

Mine is 1.25m by about 1.5m plus a shallow alcove bit (cupboard with hoover and mops). We’ve got washer then drier next to each other then cupboards above, Sheila’s maid plus a clothes rail/pole for things to dry. It’s right next to the downstairs loo so use that sink for utility type things. Small, but better than nothing! We did an extension and still a small footprint so if we’d gone bigger we’d have lost out on kitchen/diner space. Right decision for us.

Ours is about 8ft by 10ft we have dishwasher washing machine and work surface and sink (with a window above) along one long side and two large vertical freezers and the door to the kitchen on the other long side with a door to the garden at one end. It's very much a functional space. It works very well for us. We also have some high cupboards in there for extra storage.

Cupboard under the stairs for all the other things.

I think I need to make a list of all the things we would want to use it for and then draw out some different layouts within the space. Appreciate all the thoughts here, thank you!
