Does anyone know what is going on in the garden of this listing?

The boundary line has a weird cut out and it’s freshly boxed in in the garden, but in the pictures the box (and thus boundary line) look like they jut into the property. What on earth could be the reason for this? https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/91378401

Looks like a wall? Maybe it’s historic and can’t be removed? You’d have to ask them I guess.

The cut out bit of the garden isn't a wall, it's the bit that's looks like it's freshly fenced off with wooden panels in picture 24. It also looks like that boxed in bit cuts across the stepping stone path down the side of the lawn which is very odd. No idea what's going on there!

Yes that’s exactly what I mean! It goes over an old path of pavers and looks really fresh. It’s in a conservation area and a historic row of terraces. Seems really weird that the neighbours would suddenly have the right to take over this section of what seems to just naturally be this property’s garden. Unless it could be something else like utilities and not the neighbour?

Satellite view looks like it may be part of the neighbours house.

Think the floor plan on RM a makes the house and garden look more square than it actually is
from photos showing exterior of property at back and front, house looks to be built to fit a wedge shaped piece of land
photo 4 shows a wedge shaped room
and the front garden has a boundary line that looks like it runs at an angle to the front of the house - looks like the angle of that boundary line might follow through to the strange shaped boundary line in back garden

Another go at attaching the satellite image - some of the garden looks to be in front of the house next door. The neighbours may have claimed it back to extend.

£1.8m and it’s bloody ugly!

DryadsRest · Today 22:42

our garden should be wedge shaped but the most recent fence has been erected so it runs almost square between the 2 semi detached houses so one of us has gained a bit of garden from the other neighbour. It doesn’t bother either of us. But current garden boundaries are incorrect.
the fence looks so new perhaps once the RM house was being sold up the neighbours decided to get the correct garden boundary line put in place?….ready to be sold with correct boundary in place

ScotiaLass · Today 22:52

Number 22 next door sold a few years ago and as @PickAChew has also found they got planning permission to build an extension at the start of this year. I bet there has been some kind of boundary issue and Number 22 has taken over a chunk of what was number 20's garden to allow them to build.

Lambsydaisy · Today 22:57

Front picture clearly shows next door are doing building work, as also identified by @PickAChew. so likely a temporary fence while the work is done.

Lambsydaisy · Today 23:02

Here you go see this link, they are building right up to their boundary line, so it's a temp fence to protect the neighbours property and garden while allowing them enough room to work.
