Is £1,248 reasonable for repointing a roof valley and felt repair?

I've had a quote to repoint the valley between two rooves and to repair the felt on the inside. It's £1248

To me it seems expensive. The access is easy - barely need a ladder. So no cost for scaffolding. I'm up north so not London prices.

Photo of the valley might help.
Does the quote say they remove all the tiles from either side of the valley, clean it all up, then bed them on again with completely new cement?
The felt is only there as a backup to the tiles leaking. If it’s not leaking it’s just cosmetic.

I paid £1600 south East, but I had scaffolding too. It fixed a long standing leak so was happy with the work

Mine also included new tiles

It sounds cheap to me.
I was quoted about that to get mine done (with ladder) 2 yrs ago.
I live outside London sphere.
My valley is about 3.5m long I guess.

Only one of the quoters was astute enough to have a very good look inside: my whole roof was collapsing, broken supports, most of that whole quarter needed replacing, I didn't just need the valley done. So the actual cost was more like £5k (& 4 days of 4 guys working on it)

£1,248 could be perfectly reasonable if the quote includes lifting and relaying the tiles on both sides, proper preparation of the valley, new underlay/felt and making good inside. The access is only one part of the cost: roof work still needs safe access, and a small job can carry a fair amount of set-up and labour.

I’d ask for the quote to spell out exactly what is being removed and replaced, whether any tiles are included, how the valley is being finished, and whether the inside repair is included. If it’s just a small amount of repointing and patching felt, with no tiles or access equipment, I’d get two more written quotes. A photo of the valley and the wording of the quote should make comparisons much easier.

Valley repairs are a nightmare as they are, in effect, drains or water courses. You need absolutely watertight workmanship and the best materials. The valley takes water from two roof sections and are difficult to maintain. I think it’s a bit pricey but check the quality of materials. Any cheap roof felt isn’t good enough.
