Should I move- better location for a less/ worse house then current

I have 3 bed semi with 2 parking spaces / drive at the front of my house. In a cul de sac of 8 houses total. Massive houses on main road with v long garden so not overlooked. House built 2012. However this is one of the few areas where crime isn't high. There's a much safer town 30 minutes drive away with a house but it's an end terrace build by TW in 2005 and it's on 3 floors and slightly overlooked. It's got better air quality but less amenities as it's 5 minutes drive from a large village and 30 minutes drive to a supermarket. Should I move?

You said crime isn’t high where you are so why move?

It's not a better location and it sounds like it's a worse house.

Moving is so expensive I would invest in food locks and alarms over moving

Forget the stats: where you live currently - do you FEEL unsafe?

I'd always pick area over property, so if I was worried enough to be doing all this research, yes I'd probably move.

To clarify, there's a small development built 2012 just off the main road this is where I live. This feels ok However crime is rising in the overall area eg the houses in the development less than a few streets away are in a high crime area. And apparently the stats are rising. However we are close to amenities eg bus and train station less than 5 minutes drive cinema same in other direction. Less than 10 minutes drive to motorway. New area I'm considering has better air quality too as less pollution plus one bus ride to school v 2 where we currently are. I work from home so currently no issues with commuting. So basically choice is stay in semi detached house with more sq footage not too overlooked in cul de sac with pollution and crime rising just around the corner but close amenities or 3 story end townhouse not in cul de sac and 15 min drive to major amenities but safer and cleaner air

Potential new house built 2005 by TW so new boiler potentially poss other costs due to age of house

Our crime stats rose because we had an elderly neighbour who was convinced 'youths' were jumping on her garage roof. They weren't. But she had the police out every other week reporting one crime or another. We watched the bubble around our house on the crime map get bigger and bigger.

OP, do you live with anxiety? You seem to have an above average fear of crime. Is there a reason for this? I think conquering this is ultimately the problem you need to resolve. Also, towns are likely to experience more crime than villages, so what you describe seems typical. The reverse only happens in Midsomer.
