Anyone used faux sisal carpet on stairs and throughout the house? (E.g., Alternative Flooring)

Hello! Need to replace carpets (including stairs) -- love the look of sisal but hate the feel and how it stains so easily. Have come across Alternative Flooring's faux sisal at local carpet company and it looks great but feels like a dive into the unknown as always get wool. Anyone have any feedback on this?

Thank you!

Visit a shop and have a feel of it yourself, texture is such a personal thing that one person's amazing is someone else's spine-shudderingly bad.

I tend to buy a rug using whatever style I'm thinking of using so I can get a feel for how it is to stand on, how well it hoovers, if the colours work well in the room, how does it show dirt etc.

I think I remember looking at this for our stairs, but it felt quite hard and slippery. We’ve had a few people slip even with flatweave wool on our stairs so wouldn’t want anything that could be even more slippy. And it didn’t feel nearly as nice as wool under bare feet IIRC.

Thanks! I did try the sample in the shop but just not sure. Have ordered a sample from the company so that I can do my own investigations at home! Though hard to translate it to a larger area ...
