How to repair the outside wall of my house?

How would I fix the side of my house? Is this something I could do myself or do I need to get someone in, and who would that be?!

I was wondering if plastering this and then painting with masonry paint would work?

I’ve attached a photo, might take a while to come though

I would just patch it up with the same kind of render that is already on there.

Work out what’s caused it first. No point putting an Elastoplast on a broken leg.

Is it just peeling masonry paint? Looks like the render is OK underneath.

if so you just need to scrape off the loose bits with a scraper or wire wool and paint over the top.

I’d type this into AI as it will give you clear step by step instructions. It would also give a complete shopping list to take to whichever DIY store you want. (Although you should double check what it says)

Id use a wire brush and scrape all the lose paint away. Then check the render is ok and that there are no cracks or damage. Then I’d use a a stabilizing primer that’s good for exterior wall then I’d paint it.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. I don’t think the render is damaged, good to know I can try repairing it myself. Will give it a go once it’s a bit cooler and I can get on the roof!
