Best areas to live for Liverpool nightlife and bromborough work

DS has second interview for a job based in bromborough, Wirral. They are keen to know that he really will relocate and have suggested he take time when he comes up to look at areas in the Wirral, Chester or Liverpool he might move to. He is going up a day early to look around. He knows Liverpool a little bit as a school friend went to uni there and likes Sefton park/aisburth. He has a car. He really likes electronic music/is a semi professional dj on the side and would like to get regular gigs in Liverpool on weekends etc. but he also loves the sea (works in a marine role) and is happy when he can see it or go to a park and watch it.

so where should he look? Is it better to live in the Wirral and go into Liverpool to club etc, or live in the Baltic triangle because why not? Or go to allerton or Sefton park where lots of 20-somethings live? What is the timing from bromborough to those areas driving and by public transport? All advice appreciated.

What about Crosby/Waterloo? Someone has suggested that as easy into baltic triangle etc for clubbing in liverpool, good transport links to bromborough, drive not too bad if you commute by car, nice to be beside the sea.

Is it a better choice than, say, new brighton?

I live here. I adore it. Seaside, parks, easy commute into Liverpool by rail and car plus great local bars/pubs/cafes/shops/restaurants. House was far cheaper than south Liverpool (where I was also a student). Started renting here at 22 and was able to afford to buy at 26.

I will never ever move away.

One change by rail to Bromborough but if he insists on driving that’s ~£5 per day in the tunnel which does get busy and slow at rush hour.

His idea of a shared place in Aigburth is the right one IMO! I live in south Liverpool and my DH commutes to the Wirral daily, the tunnel toll is cheap as chips and it's a very easy drive, around half an hour each way. A lot of people love the Wirral (so I hope this doesn't offend anyone) but it's really not my cup of tea - so the advice from his employer to explore a few places is very good. Personally a young person with his interests, I would put in South Liverpool - maybe in a few years he might move out to the Wirral or up to Crosby (although I never did 😂).

New Brighton is a good suggestion. How about Hoylake ? Port Sunlight ?

Lark Lane and Sefton Park are lovely…but that daily hike to Bromborough would be soul destroying, and costly. There are places in the city centre with parking available and access to the tunnel, which would probably be better for him.

Agree with pp that Bebington, Bromborough etc are no fun for young newcomers. New Brighton, Hoylake, possibly Heswall (though rubbish for public transport) or Oxton are your best bets on the Wirral. Making friends is so important.

Fantastic! DS comes from a long line of ships captains - like back to the 18thc, in Greece! He is a hydrographic surveyor tho.
that would be v kind. There must be a way of managing it.

Ah my dad is a very senior merchant navy captain, he’s so excited that his DGS has chosen the career.
I hope your DS loves Liverpool. Someone also suggested Waterloo/ Crosby which is a good shout
Bromborogh really is not far from the ‘old tunnel’ entrance for a doable commute if traffic is ok
