Silly wardrobe space and the potential for fitting a clothes rail inside - any clever DIY’ers?

Our new build has a silly little ‘wardrobe’ space if you want to call it that.
it has one standard door on it and is a space that is 53cm deep, 2.1m wide and 2m high not counting the little step that’s on the back part of the floor.

I have thought about flattening this step off and standing a rail system on it. The difficulty is that it will have to be assembled inside the side and I don’t know if that is possible.

I have seen the Ikea Omar system which would fit but I just don’t know how possible it is to build this in the space.

I have attached some photos of the space and the system. Any clever bods let me know if it’s possible please?

The step/boxing is probably there for a reason (boxing in pipework or an extractor fan duct)

The door is so silly, I’d be tempted to try and open up the wall to create a proper double door to the whole space. However the existing door is so silly and inconvenient I’d have to wonder if the wall is somehow needed (can’t think why, but maybe is structural or contains wiring??)

What kind of a numbskull designed that space?

Does it have to be hanging rails? Totally different thought but would something similar to a kitchen corner cupboard pull out work?
Obviously depends on whether the sizes would work.

Front to back rods. You could fit 3 or 4 in there.

Yes those telescopic rails will work perfectly! Exactly what I was looking for!

What about something like this? You just mount the vertical rails onto the wall and then can set up the shelves/hanging rails in the most convenient way for you
