Frustrated by poor communication and delays after accepting a house offer

We accepted an offer middle of june, we in a short chain and we agreed to break the chain on offer stage. Since then its been like pulling teeth with everyone just to get basic info. It seems like im the one doing all the pushing for basic info which should be freely passed on. We are in no rush to move but want to be kept informed. Its only been 5 weeks and I want to pull house out. This is our 4th move, although we havent moved for yrs. I thought things would have improved in conveyancing but its worse. The lack of communication of where everyone is in the chain is so frustrating. You would think in this day and age of apps for everything, everyone on the chain could have something they could access to keep everyone on the same page.

We’ve moved a number of times and I think it gets worse every time. We moved in 2014 and in 2024 and the difference was astonishing. Considering money transfers immediately and email is instant, you’d think it should be straightforward. I was on my very last nerve at the end of our last move.

I know its archaic, even getting simple info like are the buyers booking the survey or is their mortgage offer finalised, you,d swear I was asking for the world. Lack of communication angers people easily and now after 5 weeks we are ready to throw the towel in. This will be our final move for certain, i will be dying in the next home, never moving again.

I agree that’s why the agent is so important. The ways around it, and I’ve done both, are to use a buyers agent or and to sell and rent.
