Currently I live in a very large semi with off street parking for 1 car, east facing back garden, beautiful road that is used as a cut through. Expensive heating and maintenance. Victorian unique house.
4 bedrooms with master en suite
there has been quite a few maintenance things come up since buying the house - mainly roofing. I had to put these on the mortgage and now feeling under pressure if anything else comes up. I am a single mother.
there is a house a few streets away beautiful location on a cul de sac. New. Smaller. South facing garden. Cheaper. Detached, same number of bedrooms and bathrooms but vastly reduced living space due to integral garage and it just being a smaller house.
I am not at all excited to move to the newer house but it stacks up on paper.
has anyone swapped old for new? Has anyone down sized and it’s worked out? Alternatively has anyone regretting the decision.
any guidance would be helpful
