Building a garden dog pond for two large dogs and occasional use

Has anyone attempted to build a dog pond in their garden? I will have some help and would love it to be big enough for two large swimmers to swim in and me if I fancy cooling off with them. Do I need a rubber liner over another liner? Im NOT fit for digging or lifting stones/slabs. Approx size I have had is 2m x 2m - can go bigger but not sure how big I need to be! Added pic and needs to be somewhere down left side. I only moved last year so a lot to do.

From my understanding building a pond won't be easy or something that can be done cutting corners etc. Would a decent quality overground pool work?

I can see the appeal in this with the current weather but do you really want your two large dogs to have access to a pond every time they go in the garden? Muddy paws and shaking themselves everywhere.
How would it be cleaned and what about algae growing? I guess you could get a cover. Maybe explore what PP suggests.

Great idea! This one looks good, only need to build some steps and put some on the inside as well to help the dogs get out.

We've been considering one of these - for personal use as sadly we no longer have dogs. Previously we had a very expensive hot tub for many years, but I always preferred it without the jets so a diptank seems like a no brainer...and if we get another dog they can enjoy it too!

Thanks all - food for thought. I have a Newfoundland and Labrador and am very well set up with an outdoor shower and grooming/drying area for them/mud containment sorted etc.. Newfoundlands are a lifestyle 🤣
