Has anyone heard of a really good door company please? We need a front door in a heritage style but can't get wood for various reasons so I am totally stumped. Chatgpt says aluminium but none of the links it has given work. Thanks all.

Why not have composite?

Yes, we replaced ours with composite in the appropriate style to the age of the house. I haven't heard of aluminium doors.

Why can’t you use wood?!

In our case it was because it was too exposed to the elements & so kept on needing repainting & kept the expanding & contracting.

Gerda doors do aluminium doors. Most of their doors are very modern designs but they do a Hawkstone which is more traditional.
You can go on their website and design your door and they are very active on social media so you can find lots of pictures of their doors fitted.

Thank you all, that's really helpful. We're looking at composite and do like it - it's just directly south facing and very exposed so anything in there will expand and contract with the weather.

It might be worth looking at Hallmark www.hallmarkpanels.com
They do a standard 44mm thick door and also a thicker double rebated option.
And Compdoor
www.compdoor.co.uk
I think you have the option to design your door on both and then find a local supplier.
