I asked around friends

I’ve had surveys with a couple, both have been video calls and have totally gone on vibes.

If you have a local Facebook group ask for recommendations there. Pick three to get quotes on. I don't just choose the cheapest but like PP depends on what vibe you get from them. Do they seem organized, answer your questions, helpful etc.

I went on vibes with my estate agents and they annoyed me 😂 I feel like my expectations must be too high.

I went with convenience with estate agent selling my parents house and regretted it. Officially booked and paid for my movers today. I liked that they answered things early in the morning, knowing they were up and sorting paperwork before the day gets going made me feel like they’d be reliable, all crossed they are.

I had amazing ones.
they were among four companies that dropped a letter to us when our house went up for sale
I was sceptical but it turned out to be a family business with two generations
The Had a big fleet and that’s actually what I needed. A big van with a trailer extension.
go for a family business who actively talk about trained staff I say

Next Door App or actually I found the EA know people. They aren’t going to recommend someone crap! When I moved both my parents houses (they were divorced) I found the EA were great with recommendations

Ask for recommendations from people locally and get a few quotes. Make sure you’re clear on what is and isn’t being provided, ie will they provide boxes, will they dismantle and reassemble large items of furniture, are you going to have a full packing service or do you prefer to pack yourself.
