What colour/style work top do you think would go with white units, pale wood colour herringbone floor and off white walls with one wall in aqua. Not wanting to change anything else but the work top.

I’d match it to the wood floor

Second wood

I third, wood.

Interesting, Never even thought of that, was considering a creamy colour with a terrazo type design but is that outdated now

this reads quite insipid OP. Without photos I won’t comment further other than to ask if you are sure nothing else should change.

wood worktops are difficult to maintain so whilst I agree with others given what you have told us I wouldn’t ever chose to install one

Samewrinklesnewname · 07/07/2026 07:45

I’d go with wood too

Not cream with white units.
I too would match the floor colour otherwise it will all be too busy.
In response to the pp who said wood is hard to maintain, there’s plenty of lovely wood effect worktops available now. https://www.worktop-express.co.uk/rustic-wood-laminate-worktop-3m-635mm/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=16781772899&gbraid=0AAAAAD2WsuRQoiHLQ-mWp8yhoczs96afL&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpvS51fy_lQMV1ZlQBh3hyio-EAQYAyABEgJdH_D_BwE

We had wood for 10 years before selling, properly installed and carefully prepared at outset, then they were not difficult to keep looking nice. A glass top saver next to the hob was an essential. Other than that they looked as good as the day they were installed, when we sold.

Dark green or even black
