Young family considering a move to St Paul's Cray/Petts wood border, any local views?

We're also in the process of buying a house in ravensbury road, orpington BR5 2NP but the views online about St Paul's Cray have got me scared. Would love to know from people who know the area/road and street well. We are a young family of three. Thank you.

We are in St Paul’s Cray, more towards the Chislehurst side and love the area.

We use St Mary Cray station a lot which is near Ravensbury Road and while I don’t really like being there late at night it’s not really rough. You get some kids hanging around the woods but St Paul’s Cray is nowhere near as rough as St Mary Cray, which is on the far side of the station.

Petts Wood is lovely, the Nugent Centre is great, Orpington high street is mixed.

Thank you, this is quite helpful.

The comments online and the indices of deprivation made me really nervous.

While the house we're interested in is included in the amber zone, we're pretty close to the road with least deprivation on one side and the area with most deprivation on the other side 😥

St Pauls Cray is a very jumbled area, a real mix of million pound + houses literally next door to social housing. Where you are looking is not one of the roads I’d think of as an instant red flag.
