Has anyone used window film to cool down home

Desperately trying to cool down my vile flat in London. I purchased some window film from special window film company to reduce heat, on their website they claimed the following statistics:
Total Solar Energy Rejected: 78.0%
Glare Reduction: 79.0%
UV Light Rejected: 99.0%

It was a lot more expensive than the random brands on Amazon, I thought it’d be best to buy from a specialist company with actual stats.

A faff to put on but it has barely worked 😭 my flat is 29.8°c inside despite being 26 outside

The most effective method is to put tin foil on the outside of your windows. Obviously this isn’t practical or possible for most properties. Anything else only makes a very small difference. Spritz yourself with water and get in front on the fan.

Thanks, I have put part tin foil and part emergency blanket taped externally on the balcony glass but can’t on bedrooms because I’m in a flat
