We need to replace some sash windows.
We want the new ones to have solar control glass, with a low g-value.
So far the only ones I have found are Grabex in Orpington. Surely there must be others in London? Does any one have any suggestions?
Everest / Anglian don't do solar control glass.
Ayrton have not been very transparent: they said their glass has good e-value, but that's a different thing (u-value: heat loss, g-value: solar gain, e-value:ability to radiate heat)
PP Glass hasn't replied.
I have spent a lot of time searching mumsnet, reddit, google reviews etc.
It seems most people are more concerned with "character" than performance - which goes some way towards explaining why in this country we have been building houses and flats like greenhouses, and we require planning permission to install external shutters or blinds which would limit solar gain....
