I designed a driveway for my house - does anyone have any comments?
There is a slightly slope down from the gate at the top to the house at the bottom.....

The area is roughly 24m wide x 22m top to bottom....

My inspiration for the planting also here. The front door is the far right of the house and there is a little step down. I cant seem to plan the area by the front door very well, I sort of want the beds to looks like the inspiration.

Orange lines are inlaid flush bricks, whixh match the house bricks

Sorry, but I don't understand your drawing. Are the yellow parts where the driveway is, so a circular drive? Where are you parking cars? What is a purple blob at the top of the pic? Where is the sun/direction?

Sorry, some notes added.

It is aligned to compass points.

The orange lines are just inlaid brick accent, into the pea shingle, as shown.....its just to decorate

We have a similar size drive (which I would also like to redesign). I would get rid of the tree in the middle of turning circle to open it all up, it makes it easier to manoevre cars. And slightly reduce the grassy bits. As long as you have some grass, and shrubs and trees, I’d always prioritise parking and reversing space. We have too much grass.

thank you. There isnt any grass, its all shrubs and beds... but there is a lot to maintain.
I just want to avoid a big expanse of shingle.....

I’d get rid of the tree in the middle and have a smaller area of gravel but you’ll have more flexibility to move cars around with no tree. Are the cars drawn to scale on your diagram? If so, the space is BIG. I’d put a few more trees and low maintenance shrubs at the edges, and add lots of salvia around the edge of the gravel.

are there any other plants in the space already? Keep what you can.
