How safe is Kingston Hill near the university and local traffic?

Hi, curious as to how safe Kingston Hill area is, particularly around Kingston university.

also, what is weekday traffic like to Norbiton station or New Malden

Safety wise it's fine I think, I dont go that way at rush hour but imagine it can get congested with turning onto thr A3 as there's no traffic lights.

i’m very happy to walk through the area in the early hours of the morning with no worries about safety.

Rush hour traffic heading into Kingston can get congested depending on the latest roadworks but not too bad up to Norbiton. Buses get through the traffic heading towards central London quite well as there are bus lanes along that section of the A3.

What do you mean by safe? Likelyhood of being mugged and your phone stolen - lower than the centre of Kingston, perfectly safe for driving and walking. many years ago, i regularly road a bike along Roehampton Vale then up the hill or vice versa, I wouldn't do it now, but the hill would be safe if you intend to ride through the park. Traffic through Kingston is bad most of the time.

There are traffic lights on the A3 though, and once those change to let southbound traffic turn towards Kingston, the way is clear for northbound traffic to turn off Kingston Vale onto the A3.
