Should we add a little bit of extra warm colour to a white and green themed bathroom? Vote on pics!

We have already started work on our bathroom - tiling will start in less than a week!
We've mocked up our original plan using Chat GPT, see the first image - it's basically a green and white theme, with a green tiled feature wall next to the bath.

We thought it might be a nice idea to only half tile the left side where the mirror and radiator are, and paint it a nice colour. We looked up the complementary colour to the green, and it was a peachy pinky colour.... But we need the tiles to at least go as high as behind the sink, and because the mirror and the cabinet go down lower and will cross onto the tiles and therefore have a gap behind on the plaster wall bit, it just felt a bit of a compromise, hence deciding to fully tile the wall.

Then we thought that perhaps we could tile the top half of the wall in the colour we were going to paint it! So we found some tiles and mocked that up in Chat GPT. Then we thought maybe that looks a bit odd - should we tile the whole wall in this peach colour, so we mocked that up too.

But now we've ended up with two feature walls! I love the warmth that the peach color brings, but is it just too much?

Which of the three pictures do you prefer?

I love the green and white, that's a very pretty bathroom. You can add warmth with a wooden bath tray or floor mat. It wouldn't take much. The white and green looks really fresh. I think the peach is more retro vibe, that may be what you're after though?

concertinacornflake · 03/06/2026 20:20

I like the middle one, full peach wall.

abracadabra1980 · 03/06/2026 20:20

Middle pic for me-I've had white themed homes for a long time and I'm so bored with that now.

Washingupdone · 03/06/2026 20:20

I prefer the first picture. If you had any extra money I would install a glass shower screen to give a chic finish,

In a similar-ish situation we actually put a really big framed modern art print on the wall that themed with the main bathroom colour (green) and the accent colours (sunset peachy orangey colours did match our green rather well). We felt an entire peach wall would be a bit much. And then bought a spiky indoor pot plant that had a bright pink flower and a colourful plant pot, and some accessories to pull out some of the tones in the green and the accent colour (not all matchy-matchy but enough to pull the room together a bit).

Plus the bathroom paint was easier to obtain in white than the shade of peach we would have wanted!

No! Accent walls are not a thing anymore. Looks like you ran out of paint.

NoisyMonster678 · 03/06/2026 20:49

It is very nice as it is, I would not change it but the choice is yours.

Not keen on the peach. Like the first one but bothered by the naked window! Adding a blind would be a way to bring in more colour and texture.
(Not RTFT so sorry if someone's already said this)

It's photo 2 for me

Thanks everyone - I think this proves that taste is a very personal thing!

We are coming around to the idea of just having green and white, and adding colour in other ways as some pp mentioned.

Thinking of a hardwood window sill and matching wood on top of the toilet unit to add a bit of interest and colour.

And yes, chat GPT is completely unable to render things like shower curtains and toilets set in the middle of where they are meant to be correctedly! The image is not entirely accurate, it's just to give an idea.

The one niggling thing I don’t like is the 4 different heights of the
whb, cistern and shelf at the read of the bath

Can you streamline the hieght of the cistern and shelf at the rear of the bath. Perhaps match the shelf in wood with the window cill
This makes the room more designed and individual and less fussy

I have a similar bathroom and to add interest, I added a dragon tree in a glossy pot and a spider plant on a top shelf. It softens the look but keeps the clean fresh colour scheme.

Setting plaster by Farrow & Ball on at least one wall x

pouletvous · 08/06/2026 08:00

Or calamine

pouletvous · 08/06/2026 08:02

Add some dark, natural wood. Either to the shelves or mirror

baskets, wicker plant pot

pouletvous · 08/06/2026 08:03

Where is the shower?

averythinline · 08/06/2026 14:20

Whats behind the sink? Around the window? Is that tiled or could you paint that as well... I really don't like peach think pink would be better or green to echo the tiles and go for calm... Dark wood/plants maybe multi colour blind... Sort of calm spa vibe.. instead
