Amersham or Lymm for a family move from north London

We are currently renting and looking for our forever homes (DC 3 and 1) coming from N London we are focussing on Amersham, Bucks (friends network) and Lymm, Cheshire (family link) our budget is c.£1.3m

We love the public transport and cultural opportinities in the South East but concern re Grammar schools, lack of family support and potentially a less relaxed/friendly vibe than up north. In Cheshire concerned re less diversity.

Jobs are London based but mostly WFH and could relocate in time

Help much appreciated

Lymm is gorgeous and you've got a great budget. It may be a shock to the system after London, it's very different and I find it feels quite rural but it's really not that far from Manchester, Liverpool or Chester.

All you can really do is go have a look around. View some schools. Check rightmove that there are houses you want and can afford.

I think family support and close ties with grandparents would be the deciding factor for me.
