Who should I contact to repair roof gutters?

Can anyone advise me who I need to ask to fix my roof gutters? I don’t know whether it would be a roofer or builder or someone else.
Also, would there need to be scaffolding put up? It’s not a very high house, but not sure whether it’s a job that can be done off ladders and I’m wanting an idea of cost.

A roofer repaired my gutters but I have a bungalow so can't say if you will need scaffolding.

I think a roofer is your typical best bet. Just to be different though, my window fitters are also doing the fascia boards and gutters too.

As to scaffolding, I guess that will depend on if anything is hard to reach or too high. I was told they might bring a scaffolding tower ( scaffolding on wheels) but wouldn't be using the traditional scaffolding that blocks the front of the house.

If you join a local FB page, I belong to 3 in my area, there’s all sorts of gutter repair chaps who’ll help you out. If not, create a post on those pages and you’ll get lots of recommendations.

Give local Trading standards a ring or look on their web page. They might have a “Trusted Traders” page (I think that’s what it’s called). Once you start looking, Googling etc you’ll find loads of gutter repair people. Ask your windows cleaner … ? It’s not what you know, it’s who you (get to) know.
Good luck.

I had all my windows, soffit, fascia boards, gutters and down pipes replaced and it was all done with ladders, no scaffolding. I don't have an easy house either. I have a downstairs section that projects forward and has a sloped roof over it plus I have an apex over one bedroom. I also have an extension at the back over one section and a bay window.

They still managed everything on ladders.

I would start with local recommendations on Facebook or word of mouth.

You don't need to know the answers to the questions before you start, that's for the tradesman to tell you.

Start with a roofer who has good word of mouth and take if from there based on what that person says then get more quotes

I can't see you'd need a builder though for gutters

Thank you everyone for your helpful responses. Will get on to it as the leaky bits are driving me mad!
