We are a young family with a 2 year old son. We currently live in Medway in a refurbished terrace house which we bought in 2019 and have worked very hard on. We are starting to think ahead on schools for our son and where we would like him to grow up. We’d like to change our lifestyle and move a bit more rural/semi rural (rural to us would be still within an hour of Maidstone although wouldn’t be a deal breaker, a few shops, a decent pub, community feel, small village primary, countryside and walks on our doorstep, access to good secondary schools). Our house has been valued at around £360k and although our top budget for a new house is £450k, we’d like a semi-detached for under £400k with a garage, big garden and a bit more downstairs space. Our house is ready to go on market but not feeling inspired by what’s out there for us at the moment. Considering villages around Faversham, Canterbury, Ashford (maybe Wye, Brabourne?) and also possibly out towards Cranbrook and the Weald for the Cranbrook school catchment area. Any other areas we should consider or words of wisdom?
