Hi. Can anyone recommend a conveyancing company please? Ideally online and as good value (cheap!) as possible. Thanks!

The online conveyancer that the FTB at the bottom of our chain is using is a PITA. After a Deed of Variation that's dragged on for months has finally been sorted, there are suddenly 2 enquiries which need to be dealt with. Nobody can get hold of them for updates, mortgage offers are expiring, and everyone in the upper chain who is fully ready to go is very stressed about the whole thing.

My advice - speak to anyone you know who has bought/sold in the last few years for recommendations, and check online reviews.

To add - we are the buyers, and we actually don't mind if they are slow, as long as they are competent.

@Wherearemyspecs4 you need to be careful. You might not mind if they're slow, but sellers want committed buyers.
If they don't see enough progress being made on your side you risk them remarketing if they don't want to lose out on their onward purchase.
Generally I think most online conveyancing is mediocre or worse. An established conveyancing solicitor will often give a better service but at higher cost for a more personal service.
I can recommend one of those if you want to DM me but she only does freehold now. She has always been great value for money.
