Per BBC report:

Do we feel sympathy for EA's? Of course not (I don't).

They had the opportunity with OnTheMarket to build a real competitor to RM, but they massively failed to produce anything better than the already simple RM.

They could have included real search and filter functions such that you could view filtered properties on the map (you cannot in RM).

They could have included really useful property information like that provided by the Area360 add-in for RM, but they didn't.

They could have excluded EA's who kept manipulating prices up and down just to get on top of the list of properties (like they do in RM).

They could have included useful features like cached towns (that RM have now inexplicably removed).

None of that. They produced a p&&s poor replica of RM and then belly-ache that RM has a monopoly.

The online listing portal is now being pursued in a class action, launched on behalf of potentially hundreds of estate agents.
