Feeling the bass of neighbour’s music. Any ways of deadening it?

We live in a detached house in suburbia so are are surrounded by houses in every direction. We are lucky and have never had any neighbour issues in the 15 years we’ve lived here. For the past six months or so, though, someone has been playing music with a really thumping bass line. It’s weird - I can’t hear the music at all even if outside but I can feel it thudding into the house. What is more weird, is that my hearing isn’t as good as the DC or DH but I am
alwaya the one who hears/feels it the most and it puts me on edge in a way it doesn’t with them. Is there a way of muffling this somehow? It’s not as if I can go & ask a neighbour to be quieter as I don’t even know where it’s coming from! Everyone else is out this afternoon and I was looking forward to a couple of hours at home reading my book in the peace and will now have to have some music in on the background so that I don’t just focus on this.

We had this and it was coming from a house several houses away and travelling through the foundations. If it's coming from an adjacent house, you could soundproof, but there's nothing you can do about it travelling underground as foundations aren't really accessible. I don't know what to suggest apart from loop earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. I know how irritating it is, you have my sympathies.

I had a feeling that that might be the case @smallglassbottle. Thanks for replying as it’s helpful to know that I’m not the only one who finds this irritating!

I hate that thumping vibration and it must be depressing to suffer from it in a detached house.
I don't know what to suggest except to experiment. Is the vibration less in certain rooms, or upstairs? Do you feel it less when lying in the bath, in which case a water bed to relax on might help? An indoor hammock?? Would heavily insulating the walls of one small room keep it out, like a recording booth?
