Rough cost of converting a garage to a living room

Assuming if other people have done it on the road planning permission would probably be given

Pretty basic spec, maybe a bit extra on good insulation - in Suffolk - it has power

just a rough guesstimate as prices keep going up

Quote for internal garage conversion - brick up door, add window, full insulation, plasterboard walls, raise floor level to match the rest of the house (suspended not solid), radiator, nice door into house (currently a security door) and changing the lights to something more suitable but leaving decorating to me - £20k (although I'm allowing more as a contingency). No need for planning as it's within permitted development and there are many conversions in the street because unless you drive a 1980s hot hatch you can't get a car into the garage 😂

Sounds lovely! an expert, thank you

God I have a Ford Tourneo I'd need a double!

Dont suppose you know a garden office/cabin price for comparison do you?

Back to this as an idea

I am reasonably handy and I have borrowed muscle - how much can I DIY?

Celotex? Is that basically a diy job? Windows and doors aren't decorating is diy

Not electrics first fix im not an idiot but what about light fittings - can you buy a kit? Or is it all certificated now

and there is no water but there will be paid for heating (hopefully something quite eco)

Help!
