Does anybody fancy sharing photos of how you've used William Morris wallpaper in your house?

I can't join in yet, as only have a William Morris tea tray, but am looking for inspiration. I've recently moved to a 1950s bungalow (so the opposite of my previous 1800s period property) and am hoping WM will still work in spite of the age of my new house, and the lower ceilings, etc.

Thanks in advance.

We collect Arts & Crafts Movement and Art Nouveau stuff (and used to have loads of the furniture etc when we owned a much larger house from that period), so William Morris designs match our aesthetic pretty well.

At our last house (a 400 year old, converted agricultural building) we used William Morris wallpaper in the hallway but only in certain areas as we had one huge bank of ikea cupboards that took up a whole wall. We had so much art on the staircase walls, we felt it would be a shame to wallpaper those, so I used it on the stair risers instead. I'll attach a couple of pics.

Our current cottage is Georgian (last fully renovated between 1965 and 1970) with low ceilings and there was William Morris wallpaper in the hall when we bought it. I'd have loved to keep the paper, but sadly it was in shreds and hanging off the walls due to extensive damp. It's still - just - on the stair well wall, which I'm hoping to salvage if possible.

Love William Morris and in the New Year will be decorating my hall in Blackthorn navy. I have an Arts and Crafts style hall stand and a parquet floor so hopefully it will look fab. My bedroom is decorated in green strawberry thief, with forest green velvet curtains and blinds. No neutrals for me!

Love that staircase. 🙂

@LibertyLily the staircase is beautiful 😍. Love the strawberry thief.

We cannot have wallpaper due to ds ripping it off in meltdowns, but I always have William Morris curtains or blinds in at least one room in the house. Currently have chrysanthemum in the lounge and lily in the bedroom.

Thank you @ShallWeDance and @HarryVanderspeigle 😊

You definitely can't beat a bit of William Morris, whether it be wallpaper, curtains, cushions or whatever. I've always got a few remnants knocking about to make a cushion to change things up on a sofa or chair. I'm currently contemplating making an upholstered ottoman using some Ben Pentreath William Morris fabric I've been eyeing up!
