Abandoned property at the end of our garden

We have a long garden. At the end of it is a small row of terraced houses. They don't have car access. The end one backs onto our garden. It was bought in 2022. Someone started work on it, but it has been left for a year or so. The door is open. It needed doing up but isn't habitable at the moment. The fence has come down between our two properties and you could get straight into our garden through theirs. I was thinking of asking their neighbours if they know anything. Should I be concerned?

Go on the land registry website and download the deeds for the house concerned and that should have the address and name for the owner of said property. Then get in touch with them regarding your concerns.

Fix the fence and don’t worry about it.

Just repair the fence.

Thanks. I will do both of those things.

If the property isnt secured the Council can take action to secure it

They will also update the Council Tax records to collect any empty property levies due and they may take action over its condition
