How to find new tiles for shower which go with existing bathroom tiles?

Our shower is on its last legs and to replace it, we need to take the tiles off and want to get a different type of shower. Trouble is there are tiles in rest of bathroom behind a free standing cast iron bath, basin and wc. We don’t want to change these as it would be very disruptive and we don’t have the budget for that.

the current tiles are charcoal grey 60x30 rectangular ones and the floor is dark grey rubber. I can’t get matching tiles (have tried but they’re about 15 years old and they don’t make them anymore) so need to get new ones. I can’t visualise what tiles would look ok as everywhere else in the room would have different tiles. Does anyone have any bright ideas?

rest of room will be painted- am open to any colours!

Yes! How about multi coloured mosaic tiles? A complete contrast is better than an imperfect match.

You could also try white with a texture. Something different from the tiles that are already there

Why not get shower boards? Really easy to clean. Just had our bathroom done. We have large pale grey mat tiles and terrazzo effect boards in white with grey speckles. It looks really good.

Shower wall panels/boards in grey to match with the tiles, Or a completely different colour as a contrast.
The panels are far better in the shower, just a quick squeegee or wipe down after use and no tile grout to scrub.

Shower panels all the way.

I used a shower panel to do this as a cost cutting tool.

I don’t like the panel at all, I’m now planning to redo the bathroom and it will be fully tiled.

Look at tile shops online, sometimes they show two types of tiles together. This is an example from Victorian plumbing, you can filter by colour etc, might give you some ideas.

Shower panels or a completely different tile to the others (as in size/colour/texture) so it becomes a feature

We have just been in the same situation and went with a contrasting warmer coloured tile that compliments existing cooler colours to provide a feature. That feature colour will then be picked up elsewhere in accessories. The new tiles go up tomorrow. So am looking forward to seeing it come to life.
