Help please ; A simple single story extension need drawings but don’t want an architect

My father is 90 . He needs a downstairs loo . Within building regulations he can build a single story extension and make it into a downstairs bathroom . Therefore he wants someone to do the drawings but not an architect their fees are too much for his budget .
advice please.

An architectural technologist working in a freelance capacity should be able to do this rather than an architect and may be cheaper. Search on a site like My Builder

Find a design and build firm who will do everything. Planning, building regulations, electrical and gas sign off. Yes it'll be more expensive than using individual trades, but having a single place to deal with who are responsible for all approvals is so much easier.

I got someone to do similar for my mum...he just advertised locally. Wasn't an architect but loads of planning experience. In fact better than an architect as he knew the local planning department really well and the locality so thinks went really smoothly.
I'd ask on FB or friends for recommendations.
