Please can you advise on here?

Have not bought/sold for many years so would appreciate some knowledge from those who are a bit more savvy in this area please!

East Anglia if that makes any difference.

TIA

Do it! Bigger house, bigger asset - whats not to love!

I’m in London and prices near me have been ridiculous and are now finally starting to fall. I think it’s a combination of longer term changes (far fewer babies, cost of living) and short term worries about what the Budget may bring. I certainly won’t be buying in the near future, will wait to see what the budget brings and may not upsize at all.

A lot depends on how much you need to upsize OP - are you squashed for space? Not enough bedrooms for kids? Or would this be a nice to have.

It's not really a bedroom issue for kids (although more space would of course be nice!) but we'd like a bigger garden and a change in location too.

In a similar boat, but don't think advice will be totally relevant until after the upcoming budget.

It’s the stamp duty part of buying that stops me from moving!!

Do we know how soon that is? And what's expected to happen?

26 November

Oh OK, thanks I should probably stand down for a while then.

You can start researching now though! What areas are peaking your interest? And what's the budget and home type requirement?

My standard advice (in case you have somehow missed any of my previous contributions!) is to add the Area360 add-in for RM. Use the Area Profile function to check out your areas of interest and what the typical home types are doing in price.
