Bath with shower over or just a shower in an en suite

We’re looking to reconfigure our house to create an en suite upstairs. We have a bedroom downstairs and a bathroom with shower over the bath but the upstairs just a shower room (albeit a large walk in shower).

Im being a bit greedy in that I want to have a walk in wardrobe space which means there probably won’t be room for a separate shower and bath in the en suite. Is it better to have a bath upstairs (where there are three bedrooms but just a shower room) or are we fine to stick with a shower. Thinking of prospective buyers down the line - would no upstairs bath put you off?

I have a bath about once a year (whether I need it or not 😉) teen DD is happy to use the downstairs bathroom for her regular long soaks! As is DH for his occasional baths.

So long as there is one bath in the house that is easily useable it’s fine IMHO

When my DC were young we had a downstairs bathroom and actually found it handy to potter around tidying whilst they were in the bath. Obviously once they were old enough.

Just go with a shower. Your house is for you to live in. Future buyers might share your choice. If not they can easily re-re-configure.

I have never used the bath in my house.

If the en-suite is for the master bedroom, I would have shower over bath. Makes for a lovely private feel when kids are younger, and now we're over 70 a hot bubbly bath is our warm up for sex.

As long as you have one bath somewhere in the property (for when you come to sell, anyone with children will require one) do what you want.
