Next door (app) and female trades(wo)men

I rarely use next door but was on there to find out some local drama and I noticed that female tradespersons (i dont know how to properly gender it!) are doing a roaring trade.

Loads of threads of women wanting jobs booked and singing their praises...while male tradesmen...utterly zilch, no comments, maybe a like or two.

Is it a next door thing or is there an untapped market for female tradies (I think i cracked the gender neutral declention there).

I would defo prefer women to men in my home for repairs etc, i guess now i know where to find them!

The Next Door app has a lot of bad reviews on Trustpilot. I'd always use a recommendation from someone I know personally, whatever the gender of the trader.

Well the few Women readies around here do have good businesses. Lots of Women don’t want an unknown Man in house.

But agree with the PP, i would preferably want personal recommendations or at least check out reviews on more than just Nextdoor.

Yeah, ive never specifically asked for recommendations for women.

Way back in ye olde days, spare ribs classified section used to have a lot of ads for trades, but I was young and renting then.

They certainly seem to have happy customers.
