Good finishes to go with a pebbledash house

Hi - we're in the process of converting our attached side garage into an office and utility. It's single level with a pitched roof (and thus far looking nicely balanced with our home, if I say so my self). Our house is a lovely 1950's pebbledash detached, and our neighbours houses are from the same era, all pebbledash.

Our builders are reluctant to finish the new frontage in pebbledash, saying they don't get asked to do it anymore and there are more modern finishing techniques. I'm worried a render or brick finish will look silly - as the conversion is only about a quarter of the frontage of the house. We will never have the cash to do a full pebbledash removal and render (and probably wouldn't want too).

Anyone have any suggestions? Googling / instagram only leads me to pebbledash removal!

I know I'm a Mumsnet rarity! Shock horror,my kids shared bedrooms..my last house was 1930s pebblesdash semi, next door has rendered, frankly,it looked bland and soleless
The majority, had actually left it the original colour. Mumsnet hate pebbles, one woman actually said seeing it made her nauseous! it sounds fabulous,I can't stand flat roof extensions, especially when tacked on the side of a property
Assuming you have a window to the front,I would pebblesdash that. Our house wasn't pebbles at the gable end . You might need to find a specialist.

I just had an extension, about a third frontage. I had pebbledash, it looks really good. I was expecting to have to paint the whole lot to match the colour but I have no need to.

Obviously, I didn't mean pebbledash the window... just the surrounding wall!

@Nannyfannybanny yes a window to the front - matches the height of the bay to the other side of the front door so the proportions look very pleasing. Yes my heart wants to keep the pebbledash tbh, I might just need to insist (and prepare to pay more for this 'specialist' finish!)

@Bonkersbeyonkers Good to know you've finished in pebbledash!

Let's hear it for pebbledash 👋

Pretty sure our garage conversion needed the same finish as the original pebbledash house.
