How long do you give before chasing an offer you put on a property?

As a seller I have accepted/rejecter/counter offered during the same call received from the agents to inform me (whether that was fed back to the buyers on the same day, I don’t know).

As a buyer though, how long do you give before chasing? Especially in those scenarios where you don’t get an acknowledgment email/phone call.

Thank you!

Has the estate agent said that the vendor is not available - they could be on holiday or away for work and not had chance to check emails.

I’d give it 1 day/2 days max and chase up. Call the estate agent if your time expectations haven’t been managed - their job is to act on behalf of the vendor so it is in their best interests to chase up on a potential sale!

I have had 3 weeks recently of trying to buy a house (after selling). Responses to offers ranged from 24 hrs to 3 days. Whilst the offers were in - I kept on looking - 2 only would accept asking price - which took a while to tease out. Others went into a bidding war which went on for a couple days. The one I did secure - thought about over night and came back next day.
