Where to move to to commute to London and Hitchin?

Hi all,

We’re house hunting at the moment. DH will be driving to Hitchin for work and I’ll need to commute into London by train.

So far we have been looking at Letchworth, Baldock, Royston and Leighton Buzzard. We also visited Biggleswade but it did not feel like the right fit for us. Hitchin is lovely but sadly out of our budget.

I would love to hear from anyone who knows these towns. What are they like to live in, what are the commutes really like, and are there other places we should be considering?

Henlow? Arlesey? Stotfold? Letchworth garden city? Stevenage?

Letchworth is a good idea. Traffic into Hitchin is a pita in the morning so having the option of hopping on the train from Letchworth would be great, assuming the work location is an easy walk or cycle from Hitchin station. Trains into London from Letchworth are pretty good.
