Help choosing carpet colour to go with Egyptian Cotton walls

Finding it so difficult choosing a beige, greige carpet colour to go with our eygptian cotton walls. We have no furniture or carpets in the room (restoration after water damage) and have had to order my sofas 1st which are a leather mushroom and green weave fabric and foolishly don’t have samples. Also want the carpet to go through the house with bedroom walls painted Dulux Just Walnut which is very similar colour. Please help. I know I don’t want grey and had green last time.

What a coincidence.

I used the same paint after a burst pipe, and the same colour carpet in hall, landing, stairs and first living room. I used a milky tea colour. However in other rooms I used a softer oatmeal carpet, and a coffee colour in a room prone to spills.

Incidentally I used a commercial carpet supplier recommended by a friend in the furniture business, rather than a retail store. I got an attractive price and first-class fitting. I was in there for less than half an hour. The well known carpet chains try to attract you with "special offers" and winch up their profits on underlays and fitting.

But de gustibus non disputandum est, so choose what you like.

Thanks Piglet John. We may have to end up choosing different shades of beige etc rather than the one colour I hoped for. Great tip about using a commercial carpet company.
