What’s the problem and what kind of extension would you need

MrsHGWells · 04/09/2025 18:13

Considering the ample outside space, I would only buy with the budget to renovating and capitalise on the space, to create better use of space and flow (indoor and outdoor).
costs will escalate depending on the place and number of internal load bearing walls.

It’s got a fairly typical layout. I really like it. What’s your issue with it? What type of extension would you like?

CatherinedeBourgh · 04/09/2025 18:15

I'm not sure given the plot where you could extend it? The garden is all to the side and quite narrow, I'm not seeing scope for extension.

WonderingWanda · 04/09/2025 18:28

It's been built in the large side garden of the house next door. It's been done well to fit un with the style and the layout is fine but you will struggle to be able to extend given the size of the plot. You could convert the garage but I don't think you will gain a lot from it.

It looks like a sensible layout. Why would you need to extend?

ComfortFoodCafe · 04/09/2025 18:43

Sensible layout, wouldnt annoy me. I dont think uou could extend that easily though given the size of the plot. You could go into the attic or garage I suppose.

TreesWelliesKnees · 04/09/2025 18:48

It's a great house. I have a personal bugbear about houses that don't have a front door that faces to the front, so the layout would bother me. I'd have to put an extension on the side with a front-facing door, but then you would lose vehicle access to the garage.

Lovely house and great location.

Lovely home i don't think anything needs doing apart from making it your own. What would the extension be for

jonthebatiste · 04/09/2025 19:27

Layout seems totally fine to me, and there are a few different directions you can extend: onto the driveway, into the side garden, into the back garden, upwards (all depending on PP). I think it could do with another bathroom, definitely.

Hectorito1 · 04/09/2025 19:42

Lovely house but it would be a no for me based on the layout of the lounge. The one sofa is stuffed to the side and nobody sitting there could see the TV.

Hairshare · 05/09/2025 19:02

It’s an excellent layout. What do you not like?

MiddleAgedDread · 05/09/2025 19:06

The only thing I don’t like is that there doesn’t seem to be any sort of walk in cupboards for things like shoes, coats, the hoover, mop bucket etc.
for a house that size I’d also be wanting a utility room.
